FOOD HANDLER TRAINING AT LAY HONG FOOD CORPORATION
On 8 September 2025, PHEIO Management Sdn Bhd, represented by Miss Najihah Mohamad, conducted a Food Handler Training session with the team at Lay Hong Food Corporation.
The training aimed to strengthen the team’s understanding of food safety principles, focusing on proper hygiene practices and safe food handling.
Lay Hong Food Corporation is one of Malaysia’s leading integrated poultry producers. Its core business activities include the mass production of basic daily necessities such as fresh table and specialty chicken eggs, liquid eggs, chilled and frozen dressed chicken, chicken parts, and processed chicken products (e.g., frankfurters, nuggets, fried chicken, etc.). The company also contract-packs specialized chicken cuts and related products for certain fast food chains.
The training session was designed to enhance participants’ knowledge of Good Hygiene Practices (GHP) as follows:
• Comply with the Food Hygiene Regulations 2009
• Increase awareness of food premises hygiene
• Increase awareness of food contamination hazards
• Understand the dangers of foodborne diseases
• Understand cross-contamination control measures
• Understand regulations related to personal hygiene
• Understand cleaning and sanitation techniques, pest control, and maintenance in food premises
• Understand proper temperature control in food preparation operations
• Obtain a training certificate for the purpose of Local Authority licensing
• Fulfil the requirements of Food Safety Assurance Systems (MESTI, BeSS, GMP, HACCP, and ISO 22000 certification)
