📅✨ Strengthening Food Safety & Sustainability at Adeka Foods (Asia) Sdn Bhd.

On 13 August 2025, PHEIO Management Sdn Bhd, led by Puan Amirah Emran, had the privilege of delivering two impactful training sessions with the dedicated team at Adeka Foods (Asia) Sdn. Bhd.

🌅 Morning Session – Food Defence & Food Fraud Prevention
This session focused on safeguarding the food supply chain from intentional threats and fraudulent activities. Key topics included vulnerability assessment, TACCP (Threat Assessment and Critical Control Points), mitigation strategies, and building a proactive defence culture.
The training covered updates to the new standard ISO 22002-100: Prerequisite Programmes on Food Safety – Part 100: Requirements for the Food, Feed and Packaging Supply Chain, with a focus on Clause 16: Food Defence and Food Fraud, which includes Annex A: Examples of Food Defence Measures and Annex B: Examples of Food Fraud Mitigation Measures.

🌇 Afternoon Session – Food Loss & Food Waste Management
In the afternoon, the focus shifted to sustainability, exploring practical ways to reduce waste along the production chain. The team discussed identifying and quantifying the FLW, investigating the root causes of FLW, waste tracking, defining actions to be taken to reduce FLW as well as to monitoring and measuring FLW against baseline/ year.
